Bessie antique Edwardian diamond ring
Crafted in the Edwardian era, if you are looking for a romantic alternative to the single solitaire stone look, Bessie has the prettiest of personalities. Five Swiss cut diamonds – an antique diamond cut dating from the late 19th century – are set in a row upon the finger, encircled by an exquisite lace-like platinum setting with the prettiest of scalloped edges that is visible from all sides. With a soft curvature at the top to ensure the ring sits close to the finger, the setting is edged in in miniature millegrain detailing. This delicate beadwork – applied using a technique known as millegraining - is regularly seen in rings made in the Edwardian era, when platinum, which is much more easily workable than gold, was used in jewellery making for the first time.
