The Vintage Ring Company
Tabitha vintage style ruby and diamond engagement ring
Sleekly stylish, colourful and totally unique, this Tabitha vintage style engagement ring in 18 carat white gold is designed to emulate a design from the 1970s, the era in which traditional diamond solitaire rings were out of favour and diamond clusters and coloured gemstones were very much in. The pink-tinged oval ruby is in a raised setting so that it sits prominently on the finger, with two baguette cut diamonds set either side, creating the graphic effect so typical of the 70s. A striking halo of diamonds traces the top of the ruby.
We had the ruby re-cut in Hatton Garden, the heart of the diamond trade in London, to bring out its gorgeous pinky red hue, and repaired the metal on one of the sides. The ring was probably designed to be asymmetric when it was first made, but we believe one of the sides may have lost some diamond detailing. We have had this fully repaired and added a gallery so that it sits comfortably on the finger, making it possible to wear a wedding band alongside, which will sit completely flush against it.

ANTIQUE ENGAGEMENT RINGS ~ VINTAGE ENGAGEMENT RINGS ~ VINTAGE-STYLE ENGAGEMENT RINGS
One of the aspects of vintage engagement rings that we find most endearing is that they are precious reminders of the fashions from days gone by. Whilst the majority of clothing and accessories from the Victorian era no longer exists, leaving us with only sepia-tinged photographs to remember it by, well-made jewellery from the years in which Queen Victoria ruled over Great Britain endures. It is this extraordinary ability to evoke a certain period in time that we find irresistible.
Whilst some classic designs have remained popular through the decades, there are also lots of design quirks and flourishes that immediately identify a ring as belonging to a specific period of time.

HOW WE SOURCE AND CARE FOR OUR VINTAGE RINGS
We source our rings with the utmost care and attention. For a ring to catch our eye, it must be unique in some way. It might be the design that draws us in, or the gemstones, or perhaps how it has been set, but ultimately, if it’s not well made and of good quality, you won’t be able to purchase it on our website.
Each ring goes through a rigorous process of checking, cleaning and polishing to ensure that, by the time it reaches you, it is looking its best. We employ a craftsman in London’s Hatton Garden to check the setting of every stone and, where necessary, to fix it. We thoroughly clean every ring to remove any dirt that may have built up over time and polish the gold or platinum to a gleaming shine. Only when we have done all of this do we take it to the Assay Office in London for the creation of a pre-sale report – our pioneering Certificate of Authenticity.
OUR VINTAGE RING CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
We want you to be happy with your purchase and to know that what you're buying is the real thing, which is why we created our Certificate of Authenticity, which is unique to The Vintage Ring Company. It is our guarantee to you that any ring you see on our website has been professionally assessed and is exactly as described.
Signed and stamped by The Goldsmiths' Company, it will tell you everything you need to know about your ring, from the type of precious metal used to the size and quality of the gemstones. It will also specify the era in which the ring was made and even the year if it has been hallmarked as such.
They are also a lovely keepsake of your engagement that you can present to her - once you've popped the question, of course!
Packaging
Your ring will arrive elegantly packaged in a white box, branded on the top with a vintage-style wax seal, ready for you to propose. It will be accompanied by your Certificate of Authenticity, presented in a luxury white envelope.

If you are not having your ring resized before you propose (find out why we recommend doing this afterwards here), your order will be dispatched as soon as your payment has been approved. Your delivery will require a signature upon arrival.
Kindly note: any duties and taxes incurred at the point of entry into a destination country are the sole responsibility of the customer.
